Health systems and state Telehealth networks are offering Telehealth services to the local and extended communities they serve. This is a positive initiative for both the facilities and their patients. We see this trend continuing to grow at a rapid pace based on industry trends and the ready availability of inexpensive technologies to support the service offering. We know from experience, many of those outlying facilities are eager to participate in these services that will allow local access to clinicians traditionally only reached by car. While the interest by the provider and patient is certainly there, the challenge can be in getting the technology in place to get the parties “connected”.
