PRESENTERS
Christie Musser – Christie has been an agent of change and dot connecter spearheading quality and process improvement initiatives across multiple healthcare settings. Her recent focus has been in digital transformation efforts to improve clinical communications within the care team and leverage technology to connect patients to the right care and right person at the right place and right time. Notably, Christie led a large University Health Network through a culture transition from pagers to direct, secure, collaborative messaging and then in the wake of COVID led teams charged with the overnight pivot of 300+ ambulatory sites to virtual care and implementing workflows to efficiently capture revenue. The efforts resulted in patient retention of 30% above industry benchmarks during the COVID-19 peaks. Christie is a certified coder and compliance officer through the AAPC. She holds a Bachelor’s in Health Management and a Master’s in Health Administration.
Amanda Buonocore – Amanda Buonocore is a Manager in the Coding Reimbursement Department for Northwell Health. Northwell is comprised of 23 Hospitals, 830 Outpatient Facilities, and 3,800 physicians. She is CPC certified and prior to her role at Northwell she received a MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art. She credits her out of the box thinking, ability to interpret abstract concepts, and desire to approach tasks collaboratively to her studies in the arts. Amanda leads a team of specialized coders that manage telehealth regulatory research related to coding, complex surgical coding review including co-surgery encounters, quality assurance audits on third party vendors, and system updates related to annual coding changes. Amanda is a member of the Telehealth exploratory committee, EMR Committee, and Connected Device Committee. In 2020, Amanda presented to a national audience on the Remote Physiological Monitoring as a panelist for CTel. She volunteers in animal rescue and can talk endlessly about cats
